Councillor Deanna Stang

County CouncilCounty Council

The citizens of Sturgeon County have a right to expect from its local Municipal Government, one that is conducted with integrity, in a professional manner. Therefore it is imperative that there not be, nor appear to be, any conflict between the private interests of elected officials and appointed board members and their duty to the public.

Council Members must adhere to the Council Code of Conduct.

Councillor Deanna Stang

Division 5

Deanna was elected as Councillor for Division 5 on October 26, 2021.

Long time resident of Sturgeon County and Legal for over 44 years.

My husband of 28 years and I have raised three amazing children who have attended local schools and participated in sports and clubs of all levels. Raising a family in a close-knit community drove me to volunteer as much as possible. From establishing a Preschool, Legal Parent Council, Legal Minor Hockey, Ft. Saskatchewan Minor Hockey and the Fête au village committee. In 2004 I had the privilege to serve as councillor in the Town of Legal. During my time as a town councillor, this is where my passion for serving grew. Understanding the administration of a vibrant and multicultural community is key to its success.  Liaison to Legal Chamber of Commerce and Sturgeon Foundation gave me a perspective of the residents and their needs.

My husband and I own a manufacturing facility that has been in the Town of Legal for almost 38 years. We have employed many throughout our time. I have worked as a financial consultant with a national company, a provincial mortgage consultant, and provincial personal insurance for the last seven years.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, reading and baking.
