Mayor’s Golf Tournament Supports Two Local Charities

Sturgeon County, Alberta - Sturgeon County Council presented donations to two local charitable organizations, for a total of $27,413.88 during the regular Council meeting on August 27, 2019.

The funds were raised through generous sponsorships, donations and registrations at the Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament hosted at Sturgeon Valley Golf and Country Club on Friday June 21, 2019.


Citizen Task Force Brings Forward Recommendations

Sturgeon County, Alberta – In March 2019, Council directed Administration to strike a Citizen Task Force to review elected officials’ remuneration and bring recommendations to Council. Through expressions of interest, a Citizen Task Force made up of five Sturgeon County residents were appointed by the Chief Administrative Officer to conduct a review of Council members’ remuneration.


Water Outages via NE Water Commission (CRNWSC)

Please be advised, Utility Services received notice of some planned water outage dates from the NE Water Commission (CRNWSC). The water outages are a result of the HWY 15 Road twinning project, and the requirement for the CRNWSC to re-locate their waterlines in this area.

During the first planned water outage this week, the CRNWSC determined that the fill line directly connected to the Landing Trail’s Water Reservoir was is significantly deteriorated, as a result,  an emergency repair will be done this weekend. The water outage will now remain in effect until July 25th.
