Valuable Feedback received from Sturgeon County Residents

Residents shared their thoughts on investing in the Community Recreation Facility

Morinville, Alberta - Between June 6 and July 6, Sturgeon County hosted six public meetings, an online survey and offered residents the opportunity to host their own conversations to gather feedback about investing in the Community Recreation Facility currently being built east of the Town of Morinville.

The information that was collected at the meetings has been transcribed to “What Was Said” and can be reviewed online at sturgeoncounty.ca. The Consultant will now analyze the data from the meetings, the online survey and emails received to prepare a summary report of the engagement activities.

In August, Administration will provide a recommendation to Council informed by:

  • Regional Recreation Facility Master Plan
  • Public Input from the Public Engagement process
  • Analysis of the Community Recreation Facility Business Case
  • Principles of Recreation Cost Share
  • Taxometer

Any final decision regarding investment in the Community Recreation Facility will be made during budget deliberations in November to determine spending allocation, balancing all County priorities and resources wisely. Thank you to all the residents who took the time to provide feedback for Council to make this important decision.
