Division 3

Drainage Improvements in West Fairhaven

This project is intended to resolve historical drainage concerns in the subdivision. The planned drainage improvements include:

  • 280 lineal meters of ditch regrading
  • 3 Culvert replacements
  • Installation of an underground storm drainpipe

The underground drainage system is designed to collect water along Ravine Drive and then flow through a PVC pipe to the Villeneuve Drainage Channel. The outfall culverts will have rip rap end treatments to slow the release of water into the drainage channel.

The final ditches on this project will be top dressed with screened topsoil and an approved seeding mixture.

Alberta Environment has been consulted and the project has met all regulatory approvals. As well, a qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist has provided an assessment of the water discharge into the Ravine to ensure the aquatic environment will not be disturbed.
