Waste & Recycling

Sturgeon County landowners are provided with a permit to dispose of up to 8,000 kg of household refuse and recycling anually at the Roseridge Landfill and the Redwater Transfer Station. Replacement permits cost $10.00.

Effective Immediately: 
Roseridge Landfill has a new permitting system. The paper permit is no longer valid.
Sturgeon County residents will need to apply for a new card-style permit and show their card each time they use the landfill.

• Permits will be mailed to you due to COVID-19 safety measures.

Roseridge Landfill and the Redwater Transfer Station are owned and operated by the Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission, a partnership between the Towns of Bon Accord, Morinville, Gibbons, Redwater, Legal and Sturgeon County to provide a region-wide essential service. Several times a year, Sturgeon County holds a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Round Up where we accept the following items:

Accepted E-Waste Materials Include:

• Televisions
• Computer monitors
• CPU’s and servers (including mouse, keyboard, cables, speakers)
• Lap tops and Note book computers
• Printers including multifunction printers

E-Waste Does Not Include:
Vacuums, blenders, coffee makers or other small appliances
