Agricultural Service Board Serving on the Agricultural Service Board is a great way to learn more about the future of agriculture and the role of boards and committees in supporting Council decisions.  

Assessment Review Board This board meets as required to hear appeals regarding property assessment and offers a great way to learn more about municipal property assessment.  

Calahoo-Villeneuve Sand and Gravel Advisory Committee This committee plays an important role in advising Council on issues related to sand and gravel extraction, including groundwater monitoring, traffic impacts, and environmental considerations.  

Economic Development Advisory Board This Board plays an important role in advising Council on business-related issues in the county, including discussing supports for small and medium-sized businesses, diversification, development, and the upcoming commercial development analysis for Sturgeon County.  

Community Services Advisory Board The Community Services Advisory Board plays an important role in advising Council on parks and recreation, culture, family and community support services, and library services including identifying ways to enhance existing services and exploring new opportunities.  

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board This Board plays an important role in hearing appeals regarding proposed subdivision of lands or other development activities.  

Transportation Advisory Committee The Transportation Advisory Committee plays an important role in advising Council on issues related to the maintenance, construction, and preservation of the County’s road infrastructure.  

Agribusiness and Agritourism Review Task Force Sturgeon County is looking for insights on how we can grow agribusiness and agritourism in our region. The new Agribusiness and Agritourism Review Task Force (the Task Force) will conduct a review of agribusiness and agritourism regulatory best practices while considering the needs and expectations of business and landowners in the County and use this information to prepare a report for Sturgeon County Council consideration. The Task Force is temporary committee and is expected to conclude upon completion of the Final Report, which is expected to be presented to Council before April 1, 2022.
