Agribusiness and Agritourism Review Task Force

Sturgeon County is looking for insights on how we can grow agribusiness and agritourism in our region. The new Agribusiness and Agritourism Review Task Force (the Task Force) will conduct a review of agribusiness and agritourism regulatory best practices while considering the needs and expectations of business and landowners in the County and use this information to prepare a report for Sturgeon County Council consideration.

The Task Force is temporary committee and is expected to conclude upon completion of the Final Report, which is expected to be presented to Council before April 1, 2022.

The inaugural meeting of the Task Force will include establishing a schedule of milestones and meeting frequency. Members can expect to meet once every three weeks for two hours per meeting at the beginning, with consideration for summer break(s).  Task Force members are paid for attending meetings per the Board and Committee Public Member Remuneration Policy.

Membership:

Agribusiness and Agritourism Review Task Force is made up of two members of Council and the Mayor as an ex-officio member and up to seven members of the public who are residents or business owners in the County.  The membership will be reviewed at Council’s annual Organizational Meeting, which takes place in October.
