A CN Railway Train derailed at approximately 1:30 p.m. in Sturgeon County

A CN Railway Train derailed at approximately 1:30 p.m in Sturgeon County.

As a precautionary measure, residents were evacuated at approximately 2 p.m. from two subdivisions, affecting approximately 46 homes in the Sturgeon Valley area. No injuries or property damage reported.

A reception centre is set up and Namao Hall located at 24400 Hwy 37.

Sturgeon County is coordinating efforts with CN Rail on scene.

Next update at 6:30 p.m. to determine when residents can return to their homes.
