Hu Haven Water Main Repair

Completion date has been extended to September 21, due to the weather.

Attention residents of Hu Haven & Riverside Park Sturgeon County Utility Services will be replacing a water main valve in Hu Haven Estates between September 4 and 21.

As a result, you may experience intermittent interruptions to your water service; outages are anticipated to last only a few hours at a time. Following the valve replacement, repairs will be made to infrastructure between lots 55 and 31. In addition, signage will be posted in the area advising residents of the work being conducted. We thank you for your patience.

HWY 15/37/825 ROAD CONSTRUCTION: 2018/2019
Intersection of Hwy 37, Hwy 15 and Hwy 825 interchange – road construction currently taking place; with reduced speeds; please drive with caution obeying all traffic accommodation to ensure the safety of the workers and travelling public.

HWY 803 ROAD CONSTRUCTION: July 25 to September 15, 2018
Hwy 803 from Hwy 28 north to Hwy 651 – Chip sealing will be taking place; there will be one lane alternating traffic during work hours (7a.m.-7p.m.); with reduced speed and stoppages for alternating traffic.

HWY 38 – VINCA BRIDGE:
2018 Bridge maintenance is currently taking place on the Vinca Bridge on Hwy 38 in the northeast section of Sturgeon County.

HWY 44 ROAD CONSTRUCTION: 2018
Hwy 44 from Hwy 642 north to Hwy 18 – road construction currently taking place; with reduced speeds; please drive with caution obeying all traffic accommodation to ensure the safety of the workers and travelling public.


Lily Lake Area Roadway Improvements

Construction is underway and will continue through the construction season. Paving crew is scheduled to mobilize the week of October 1st to begin paving operations.

TWP 572: Road to be closed between Rge Rd 233 and Hwy 28
Construction is underway and will continue through the construction season. Open to local traffic only.

The intersection of Hwy 28, Rge Rd 232, and Twp Rd 572 will open on September 19th. Twp Rd 572 from Rge Rd 232 to Rge Rd 233 will be closed until September 28th.

Sightline Brushing

To improve the safety of our roads, Sturgeon County is actively engaged in an intersection sightline inspection and brushing program for the winter of 2017/2018. Sturgeon County designates are performing these assessments based on the guidelines from the Alberta Transportation AT-Grade Intersection specifications. If the intersection qualifies for brushing sightline improvements the Sturgeon County designate will be contacting the registered landowner by letter, phone or site visit.

With approval from the registered landowner Sturgeon County Transportation crews or a contracted service will be clearing the brush during the winter 2017/2018 program in the identified sightlines at no additional cost to the landowner.

Registered landowners in possession of an intersection sightline brushing issue that have not been contacted by a representative are encouraged to contact Sturgeon County Transportation Services at:

ATTENTION: ALCOMDALE RESIDENTS

Effective immediately, all Alcomdale residents are under a Boil Water Advisory. Residents are required to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to any consumption, including:

  • drinking
  • brushing teeth
  • cleaning raw foods
  • preparing infant formula or juices
  • making ice

Water used for bathing or washing clothes does not need to be boiled. Residents may instead choose to purchase bottled water for consumption for the duration of this advisory. This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
