Hydrant Flushing in Grandview Heights and Namao Ridge Subdivisions

Dear Resident,

Re: Hydrant Flushing in Grandview Heights and Namao Ridge Subdivisions

Sturgeon County staff will be in your area on Tuesday May 05, 2020 to flush the distribution system. Flushing of distribution systems helps ensure adequate chlorine levels, regulatory compliance, remove sediment, and potentially improve taste and odor of your water. County staff will be operating hydrants and flushing water into the ditch system which will take approximately two to four hours.

Please be advised that flushing may result in the release of particulates that have accumulated in the system. These particulates may result in some “wear and tear” to water softeners and hot water tanks. The Utilities Department would like to recommend that you isolate your water softeners and hot water tanks during the day on May 05 and then flush your internal plumbing prior to putting them back into service. Water softeners typically have a bypass and hot water tanks typically have inlet and drain valves that can be utilized for such purposes.

If you would like additional information or have any questions, please contact the Utility Services Department at 780-939-8254.

Thank you in advance for your patience. Regards, Jeff Yanew Manager, Utilities and Waste Management Services
