Sturgeon County is responsible for maintaining and building all township and range roads within the County. Watch this space for updates to our construction schedule.
Please note all timelines are approximate.
* Stages 1a, 1, 2, and 3a will be left with a temporary gravel driving surface, and will be paved together following the completion of Stage 3a. Short-term closure of Cardiff Rd will be necessary to facilitate this work as well as the driveway approach surfacing.
Will be closed for approximately two weeks in late August or early September.

Ashphalt paving, selective curb and gutter replacement, base repairs and cold milling in the areas of River Lane, Arcand Drive, Valleyview Crescent, Estates Way and Flynn Way. Construction will start on August 21 and is expected to be finished by October 15.
Sturgeon County has contracted Border Paving Ltd. to upgrade Range Road 241 from Township Road 552 to Cameron Park as well as Township Road 552 from Range Road 241 to Range Road 240.
The work to be done includes brushing and clearing, ditching, culvert installations and earthworks, road base preparations, gravel and Hot Mix Asphalt paving. Weather permitting, the work should be completed by October 15m, 2017

Sturgeon County is constructing a 1.8 km trail in Lamoureux as part of the Capital Region River Valley Park in collaboration with River Valley Alliance. Residents have been contacted regarding their mailbox relocations and tree removal took place earlier this spring.
Construction is expected to wrap up at the end of September, 2017, weather permitting. Please slow down and drive carefully through the construction zone. Obey all posted signs.
Sturgeon County will be rebuilding, widening and paving the following roads in the Lily Lake area. The work that is going on is necessary for Sturgeon County to be able to provide the residents with a paved road. We understand that construction is an inconvenience for the residents and we are doing everything we can to reduce the delays and issues with such construction.
Construction is ongoing, but delayed due to the recent rain. The road is still open and the Contractor is blading the road to improve drivability.
The Contractor will be providing road support to ensure that traffic can safely pass through the construction zone. Please call 780-916-1494 if you require towing.

Canada Post has assured Sturgeon County that mail delivery will resume on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017. For more information please contact the Post Office in Gibbons @ 780-923-2939.
Sturgeon County has been working with our Consultants and Contractors to ensure that the roads are maintained in such a manner as to accommodate all types of vehicles including School Buses. Sturgeon Public School Division will be assessing the roads on Sunday evening to determine if bus service can resume on Monday morning. HWY 15 & Lamoureux Drive: North and South access roads

HWY 28 from North of HWY 28A to West of Jct HWY 827
While working on HWY 28, the speed limit will be reduced from 100km/hr to 80km/hr or 50km/hr, depending on the work. During paving, traffic will be reduced to one lane on HWY 28.
HWY 651 from TWP 574 North to TWP 580
Alberta Transportation could not complete the paving project in 2016, so work will resume in 2017. The speed limit will not be increased until the road repair work is completed.
