By-election required for Sturgeon County - Division 6 (updated)

Councillor-elect Ronald Shaw resigns from Sturgeon County Council effective Monday, October 25, 2021

Division 6 Councillor-elect Ronald Shaw has resigned from Sturgeon County Council.

In a letter to Sturgeon County’s Chief Administrative Officer, Shaw noted that his decision was for personal reasons and is effective immediately.

With this resignation, a by-election will be required for Division 6. The date for the by-election will be set by Sturgeon County Council at an upcoming meeting.

For constituent matters, until a new Councillor is elected for Division 6, the following County Councilor’s will be available to provide support as follows:

  • Sturgeon County residents and businesses north of Heartland Drive (Township Road 570) contact:
    • Deputy Mayor Neal Comeau
       
  • Sturgeon County residents and businesses south of Heartland Drive (Township Road 570) contact:
    • Councillor Dan Derouin

More details on the by-election will be provided in the coming days.
