The Sturgeon Youth Council is an amazing team that provides leadership opportunities and youth activities to the community. As a member of Sturgeon Youth Council, you will develop leadership skills, plan activities for your peers, volunteer with the food bank, and more!

Getting involved

We welcome Sturgeon County youth in grades seven to 12, aged 13-18. Meetings are on the first Monday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Sturgeon County Centre. For more info, call Shelly Chubb, Community Development Coordinator at 780-939-8333 or email schubb@sturgeoncounty.ca

JET - Job Experience Training (Ages 12-17)

Gain valuable work experience through volunteering with Sturgeon County’s Summer Programs as a JET this summer! As a JET, you will experience a job interview, attend fun trainings to grow your leadership skills, connect with like-minded people, and more. Aside from attending the provided trainings, you only need to work FIVE shifts throughout the summer.

But don’t worry, we work around your availability so you can still enjoy your summer! Additionally, the JET program also works with high schools through the high school work experience credit program where you can earn up to 3 credits towards your high school diploma!

Check out the application for more information.
