Plan your community cleanup!

Show your community spirit by picking up litter in your backyard, around your neighbourhood, or in a favourite green space.

Registration is free, fast, and easy. After registering online, you can pick up your free cleanup supplies from the Sturgeon County FCSS Offices.

If you are planning a clean-up on a County-road, Sturgeon County can also supply road signs and 20-yard garbage bins for large-scale initiatives.

You can always get creative and combine your community clean-up efforts with a community event or block party.

Cleanup kits include:

  • garbage/recycling bags
  • garbage pickers
  • work gloves
  • safety vests
  • flags
  • first-aid kit

Accepted and Prohibited Materials examples:

Accepted Prohibited
  • Normal household waste
  • Lawn clippings, leaves, branches, etc.
  • Metals, fridges, freezers (in appropriate bin)
  • Lumber/ wood
  • Large furniture (i.e. couches, tables)
  • Mattresses
  • Asbestos
  • Biological, hazardous or chemical waste ( animal carcasses, manure, sludge)
  • Batteries
  • Tires
  • Railway ties
  • Liquids (i.e. motor oil, paint, antifreeze)
  • Explosives (i.e. fireworks, propane tanks)
  • Dirt, rock, concrete, sand

Community Clean Up

Please note that if you do require big bins, we will require two weeks notice to ensure the bins are available.

Big Bins do not accept the following materials:

tires, liquids, unsolidified paint, asbestos, e-waste (computer monitors, TVs, etc), batteries,
ammunition, radioactive, pressurized, volatile, highly flammable, toxic, hazardous or infectious materials.
