Supporting Our Community Organizations

Sturgeon County recognizes that volunteer community associations are vital to the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

Each year Sturgeon County Council allocates funding to support community non-profit, volunteer service agencies and organizations. Financial assistance is available to help build capital projects and fund day-to-day facility operations.

Currently accepting applications for:

Family & Community Support Services Grant

This grant is used to finance capital projects and community improvements.

Open to:

  • Any registered non- profit, organization that provides services to Sturgeon County residents that fall within the definition of preventative social services as outlined in the Provincial FCSS Act and Regulation.
  • Non – profit volunteer service agencies and organizations that support locally driven preventative social initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities.

Community Association Operating Grant

Not currently accepting applications

This grant is open to recognized Sturgeon County Community Associations and Senior Associations to support their operating costs and annual program expenses. Operating costs are the expenses associated with the day-to-day operations of a facility.

Community Capital Enhancement Grant

Not currently accepting applications

This grant is open to recognized Community Associations and provides funding for capital projects and community improvements that benefit all Sturgeon County residents.

Dale MacMillan Scholarship

The Dale MacMillan Memorial Scholarship for Community Leadership recognizes and commemorates the contributions of Dale MacMillan, who was instrumental in helping achieve a balance between residents and gravel extraction operations in the Calahoo and Villeneuve areas
