Located along the western boundary of Sturgeon County, Alexander First Nation (AFN) is a member of the Villeneuve Landing Network and is home to Alexander Business Centre.

Located mere minutes from Sturgeon Industrial Park (SIP) and Edmonton’s downtown core, CFB Edmonton is home to the “Army of the West”, 3rd Canadian Division Support Group (3 CDSG). It provides personnel, administrative and technical support, range and training areas needed by other Canadian Armed Forces units and their members along with proximity to both CFB Wainwright and RCAF 4 Wing Cold Lake. Base personnel includes 5,829 regular force members, 403 reservists and 506 civilian employees, nearly half of whom live in our community.
