EV Charge Increase

Starting July 31, 2026, the cost to use Sturgeon County EV charging stations will increase to better reflect the cost of providing and maintaining this service.

The fees help cover the costs of running and maintaining the stations, including electricity, repairs, software, and equipment updates. Like other County services, EV charging stations need ongoing funding to keep them working and available when people need them.

The rate is increasing from $2 per hour to $2.50 per hour.

Sturgeon County is committed to supporting EV charging options and providing a reliable service for residents and visitors.

Sturgeon County has six electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. There are four at Sturgeon County Centre and two at Cardiff Park.

The charging stations are Level 2, meaning they have 6.2 kW (30 amps) of charging capacity per unit. They are part of the FLO EV charging network and use a standard J1772 connector which has been adopted by most Canadian and American EV manufacturers for cross-compatibility.

Visit the EV Charging webpage for more information on the chargers and creating a FLO account.
