Join us in-person or virtually for a free, half day workshop and networking event exploring nature-based solutions to preserve and improve water quality, increase drought resiliency, and enhance biodiversity and wildlife habitat.
The workshop will start with a presentation from the Agroforestry and Woodlot Extension Society (AWES) on eco-buffers and how designing and implementing riparian buffers helps protect freshwater and provide important wildlife habitat.
Learn about available funding for nature-based projects for farmers and ranchers as well as acreage owners with the ALUS Sturgeon Program and the Land Stewardship Centre’s Green Acreages Program.
End the morning by diving into the world of beavers with the presentation from Cows and Fish on how to co-exist with beavers and how beavers can improve water quality in Sturgeon County.
Coffee and snacks will be provided.
