On September 30, Canadians reflect on the legacy of residential schools and commit to reconciliation. This year, Sturgeon County is marking National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with events focused on learning and community connection.
You’re invited to join us for a free screening of Voices Across the Water at Cardiff Hall on September 29 at 5 PM. This moving film follows two master canoe builders—one Gwich’in, one Dene—as they preserve traditional knowledge for future generations. Refreshments and movie theatre popcorn, and children’s activities will be available.
To encourage reflection and learning, Sturgeon County is donating copies of the following books to local libraries. Residents of all ages are encouraged to read and share them.
