Did you Know?

⚛️ Sturgeon County is situated atop of the geologically significant Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, which supplies low-cost natural gas and pore space to safely store CO2.

⚛️ We have existing world scale ammonia production that is carbon capture enabled – Nutrien, located within Sturgeon County, is the third largest producer of ammonia (NH3) in the world.

⚛️ Sturgeon County is the origin point of The Alberta Carbon Trunkline (ACTL), one of many operational and announced Carbon Capture Utlization and Storage (CCUS) projects within the region. The Government of Alberta has announced six additional hubs in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland area.
