Sturgeon County is excited to announce that its new Emergency Services aerial platform truck is now in service.
The new aerial platform truck, a Pierce Ascendant 110, was approved by Sturgeon County’s Council in the 2024 capital budget. This acquisition is the first of its kind for Sturgeon County Emergency Services and reflects the County’s proactive approach to ensuring robust, long-term emergency response capabilities and supporting community safety and growth.
This critical equipment enables Sturgeon County Emergency Services to respond effectively to incidents requiring additional height capabilities, such as large structure fires, industrial incidents, and rescues, with a vertical reach up to 110 feet / 33 meters, enhancing the Sturgeon County Emergency Services’ ability to manage complex emergency situations.
About the New Aerial Platform Truck
The new aerial platform truck comes with advanced features that enhance both performance and safety, including:
- Improved maneuverability with a shorter turning radius, allowing easier access to residential neighborhoods and other tight spaces.
- Integrated computerized aerial deployment safety systems enhancing firefighter safety and operational effectiveness.
- Platform mounted nozzle capable of flowing 1250 gpm / 4732 L/min from height.
The addition of this ladder truck demonstrates Sturgeon County’s commitment to community safety and readiness for a range of emergency situations.
