New, modern, website puts focus on services, and improved search functionality

As of Friday, August 12, 2022, Sturgeon County residents, businesses, and visitors have a fresh, modern, and inviting website to access key information and services.

The website project started in late 2021 in conjunction with the Sturgeon County rebrand, which launched in June of this year. The redevelopment focused on making content more customer-centric, using feedback and analytics collected over several months.  The new website also has improved search functionality, making it easier for people to access information like building permits and other programs and services.

The new County website also combines Economic Development and Ecosystem Services information, which was previously hosted on the separate Start in Sturgeon website. The project also included selection of a new content management system and has new features, including an events calendar that allows community groups and businesses to enter their own events.

Regular visitors to the site may need to update any bookmarks or saved pages. It may also take up to 24 hours for the new website to show up depending on the Internet Service Provider.

The Corporate Communications department will continue to review content, website analytics, and feedback from users and make further adjustments as needed. The County is also exploring other online services that could be offered through the website, including e-commerce transactions and digital permit applications.

The new website can be found at sturgeoncounty.ca. The site includes an online contact form to share any website questions or concerns. Visitors can also email concerns or fill out the form to the right.
