Project Description

The Project

Drainage improvements with this project include vegetation removal, roadside ditching, and culvert replacements. These improvements will address historical flooding concerns and are designed to ensure drainage flows to the north part of the Hamlet of Villeneuve.

The Scope

In 2023, culverts will be replaced and ditch grade improvements will be done along Ferland Drive, Range Road 265, and the channel leading to Highway 44.

This project involves:

  • replacing 22 culverts,
  • 1,460m of ditching,
  • creating 390m of new berms, and
  • planting new trees and plants.

    Engineering on the next phase of the Villeneuve Drainage project is underway. The portion of the drainage channel between Range Road 264 and Highways 644 and 44 is being considered for construction in 2025.

    July 10, 2024

    Villeneuve residents were invited, by letter, to an information session on July 10. The four phases of the Villeneuve drainage project were explained and residents had a chance to ask questions. Please see the links under Project Information to look through the PowerPoint presentation.
