Waterdale Park Subdivision – drainage

Project Highlights

In 2021, work started on drainage improvements to mitigate the risk of flooding in the community. The County hired WSP as the consulting engineer for this project.

The project involves assessing the existing wetlands and constructing a drainage ditch to improve drainage through the community. The concept of creating a pond facility in the reserve lot at the northeast side of the community is being considered. A retention pond would hold the runoff from rain and snowmelt and slowly release it downstream.  These ponds can reduce the risk of flooding in the community.
