This summer, Sturgeon County is starting work to reconstruct and pave the roads in the Pine Sands Subdivision.
The project to reconstruct the 2.5 km of roads within the Pine Sands Subdivision began in 2021. The roadways are of mixed surface type, in moderate to poor condition. The County has undertaken the project to improve the surfaces and roadway structure to current construction standards.
The project includes:
- Granular base course
- Surface paving
What to expect
Sturgeon County will be sending construction notification letters to affected residents before the work begins. A contact number will be provided in case there are concerns.
There will be traffic disruptions in the work zone. One lane traffic will be maintained, as well as access to residences during the project.
June 14, 2023
Construction crews are paving the approaches and roadways. This will involve some temporary lane closures. Please drive carefully through the area. Topsoil is also being added for landscaping.
November 22, 2022
Work that was scheduled to be done in 2022 is nearing completion. Outstanding approaches, the final lift of asphalt, and landscaping will be done in 2023.

Construction on this project continues.
October 3, 2022
Residents will notice the contractor is moving equipment to the site, and construction is in progress.
September 6, 2022
The contractor is expected to restart in early September 2022.
August 11, 2022
The project is now scheduled to begin in August 2022.
July 11, 2022
The work is scheduled to begin mid-July. Notices have been sent to residents.
