Project Highlights

The project involves the reconstruction and surfacing of Range Road 274 from Highway 633 to Highway 37. Constructed was started in 2021 and is planned for completion in 2022.

The County will reconstruct and pave Range Road 274 from Highway 633 to Highway 37, southeast of Calahoo. The current road surface is gravel. The approximate length of this segment is 6.4 km. It is 6.5 m wide with a current right-of-way width of 20.0 m. Approximately 1.2 km of roadway south of Township Road 544 has already been reconstructed but needs to be paved along with the remaining 4.2 km. Drainage improvements are also included as part of this project.

The intersection of Range Road 274 and Highway 633 will be upgraded from a Type I to a Type IVb treatment with a westbound left-turn bay to accommodate the increased traffic and the changing conditions of Range Road 274.
The intersection of Highway 37 will also be upgraded from a Type I to a Type IIIa treatment to accommodate the increased traffic and the changing conditions of Range Road 274.

As part of this project, we will also be paving Township Road 545A from Range Road 274 west for approximately 520 m.
