Home Based Business
A home business means your business location is within a part of a dwelling unit or (where applicable, accessory building or site or combinations thereof) by at least one resident of the dwelling unit for a business activity that results in a product or service.
A home office which involves an office by a resident that does not require any signage, storage of goods, client or vender visitations including deliveries or employees.
Has business activity, may include signage, no exterior storage only storage within a compliant accessory building or dwelling, up to; one (1) commercial trailer, passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle, up to two (2) non-resident employees, and up to eight vehicle visits per 24-hour period in the AG district and four vehicle visits per 24-hour period in all other districts.
Has business activity, may include signage, may include exterior storage (up to 1% of the parcel size), up to; three (3) commercial trailers, three (3) commercial vehicles and two (2) passenger vehicle, up to four (4) non-resident employees, and up to ten vehicle visits per 24-hour period
Permit requirements for a home-based business:
- A completed home based business development permit application
- Land title certificate searched within 30 days prior to the application
- Alberta Transportation Roadside Development Permit
(if proposed development is within 800m of highway)
- Corporate registry, if applicable
