In order to complete installation from the roadside to your home or business a completed Access Agreement is required to allow contractors permission to enter the property.
Contractor crews are committed to avoiding damage to properties with minimally invasive installation, and the property will be restored to its original grade with additional topsoil and grass seed added as required.
Access Agreements must be signed and returned to the County for each of your properties.

Additional Information:
- Facilities – means the equipment and technology owned by Sturgeon County or a third party that is used to provide access to fibre internet services. This may include fibre optic cables, conduits, optical network terminals, accessories, and other related equipment.
- Permissions Granted within the Access Agreement – The County, including utility, broadband, and related employees, as well as third-party contractors, agents, and subcontractors, may enter the property only for the purpose of:
- Assessing the property to support the installation, repair, maintenance, or replacement of the facilities;
- Installing the facilities from the road boundary to the exterior of the building on the property;
- Inspecting the facilities;
- Repairing, maintaining, or replacing the facilities.
- Property Entry that is not within the Access Agreement – Activities not related to the fibre network are not covered by this Access Agreement. If work is needed for other utilities or services, such as water, sewer, gas, power, road work, or property assessments, separate permission may be required from the property owner. Those activities would be handled by the appropriate County department, utility company, or service provider.
- Post-Installation – Once installed, the fibre infrastructure will be registered with Safety Codes Council Utility Safety Partners (formerly Alberta One-Call) and treated like other utility infrastructure. Any future access to the property would be limited to activities necessary to locate, inspect, maintain, repair, replace, or upgrade the fibre infrastructure.
