Sturgeon County recently added two new designated off-leash dog areas. In these areas, your dog is free to run, roll over, and meet new friends. Please remember that the dog off-leash areas are not supervised, and the park gates automatically close at 11 p.m.
Off-Leash Dog Park Locations
Bellerose Park
54311 Bellerose Dr, Sturgeon County, ABÂ
The 0.80 hec (2.0 ac) dog park is located near the parking lot.
The off-leash area is surrounded by a 5’ fence and has a single gate entrance with a single gate emergency exit in the rear to ensure dog safety. It includes benches, trash cans, and bags for picking up after your pet.
Dog owners are reminded that dogs are required to be on leash when inside subdivisions and hamlets.
Cardiff Park
25023 Township Rd 554, Sturgeon County, AB 
The 0.65 hec dog park is located near the south ball diamond.
The off-leash area is surrounded by a 4’ fence and has a single gate entrance with a gated emergency exit in the rear to ensure dog safety. It includes benches, trash cans, and bags for picking up after your pet.
Dog owners are reminded that dogs are required to be on leash when inside subdivisions and hamlets.
Off-Leash Area Rules
- Pick-up after your dog.
- Ensure dog(s) are licenced.
- Always keep your dog under control.
- Owners are legally responsible for their dog(s) behaviour.
- Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Vicious dogs are not allowed.
Reporting Problem Animals
Animal control officers enforce the bylaws involving animals within Sturgeon County. In all areas of Sturgeon County, animal owners are legally responsible for their dog(s) behaviour.
Report animal issues to Animal Control at 780-939-8419 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). After-hours calls can be directed to 780-939-4321 and will be handled through an answering service.
Animals in distress or animal welfare issues should be directed to the Alberta SPCA at 1-800-455-9003. For emergencies, call 911.
Wildlife and Your Dog
Be cautious if you see a wild animal and leash your dog immediately. Exit the park if you feel a threat to yourself or your dog. To report a problem with wildlife within the park limits, please contact Alberta Fish and Wildlife office.
