Please ensure the appropriate authorities are notified. Partial Closures will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
During closures you can expect some delays. Full closures require no through traffic, “local traffic only” signage means residents that reside within the work area will have access and that the road is closed to the travelling public. Crews will have traffic accommodations in place – signage – on site.

Full Road Closure
Location: Twp Rd 570 – Railway Crossing Between Rge Rd 231 and Rge Rd 230
Date: Tuesday June 6, 2023 (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
Purpose: CN Rail will be performing railway crossing maintenance on the railway crossing on Twp Rd 570 east of Rge Rd 231.

- Only Emergency vehicles will have access
Detour
- Residents east of the railway crossing on Twp Rd 570 have access from Rge Rd 230
- Residents west of the railway crossing on Twp Rd 570 have access from Rge Rd 231
Full Road Closure
Location: Rge Rd 231 – Railway Crossing Between Twp Rd 570 and Twp Rd 564
Date: Wednesday June 7, 2023 (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
Purpose: CN Rail will be performing railway crossing maintenance on the crossing on Rge Rd 231 just south of Twp Rd 570.

- Traffic accommodation will be in place
- Only Emergency vehicles will have access
Detour
- Residents north of the railway crossing on Rge Rd 231 must access from Twp Rd 570
- Residents south of the railway crossing on Rge Rd 231 must access from Twp Rd 564
- Residents in Lost Point Lake Estates may also access Twp Rd 570 via Railway Ave or Coronado Ave from within the subdivision
One Lane Closure
Location: Lamoureux Drive – from south end of Hwy 15 east access at Lamoureux Dr.
Date: Monday June 5, 2023 to Friday July 14, 2023 (weather permitting)
Purpose: River Valley Alliances (Trail System) Contractor (DeFord) will be starting roadway/trail construction taking place along Lamoureux Drive starting at the bottom of the east access to Hwy 15, and going approximately 220m east along Lamoureux Dr.
- Traffic accommodation will be in place
- Road will be reduced to one lane traffic during the day
- No parking allowed along this section of roadway for duration of project – vehicles in way of construction will be towed at owners expense
- Ask for residents and local commuters to keep a safe distance from the equipment at all times; and following all communication given from the on-site employees

Intermittent Road Closure – Utilities Services
Location: South Access – Prospect Place, Cardiff Echoes
Date: EXTENDED Intermittently between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – Thursday May 11, 2023 to Friday June 9, 2023
Purpose: Prospect Place in Cardiff Echoes will be closed due to ground disturbance & equipment parked in the roadway for groundwater investigation work.
- There will be two way traffic in and out from the north access to Prospect Place
- Traffic accommodate is in place
- The road will be open intermittently throughout this time period
Full Road Closure
Location: MEADOWVIEW DRIVE – Cunningham Bridge over Sturgeon River between Rge Rd 261 and Rge Rd 261A
UPDATE – EXTENSION OF ROAD CLOSURE (BF02212):
- Full Road Closure – Phase II Part 1: Tuesday April 18, 2023 EXTENDED to Friday June 9, 2023 (24/7)
- One Lane Closure – Phase II Part 2: Saturday June 10, 2023 to Saturday July 22, 2023
Purpose: Sturgeon County Contractor will be mobilizing on Monday April 17, 2023 and effective Tuesday April 18, 2023 the Cunningham Bridge on Meadowview Drive will be closed for the contractor to begin Phase II Part 1 of the bridge rehabilitation (BF02212). Digital signage is in place.
Detour:
- East side of Cunningham Bridge on Meadowview Drive – travel north on Rge Rd 261/Silver Chief Dr to Hwy 633
- West side of Cunningham Bridge on Meadowview Drive – travel north on Rge Rd 263A, east on Twp Rd 540, north on Rge Rd 262 to Hwy 633
- LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY on Rge Rd 261A
One Lane Closure
Location: Meadowview Drive – Phase 3: From Reyda Vista Subdivision to Hwy 44 – In Progress
NOW OPEN: Phase 1: From Carrot Creek bridge to Rge Rd 261 – ROAD PAVING COMPLETE
Date: Monday May 29, 2023 to June 30, 2023
Purpose: Sturgeon County Contractor will be mobilizing on Monday May 29, 2023 to begin paving operations of the remaining portions of Meadowview Drive; starting at the east end at Carrot Creek/City of St. Albert boundary and then extend to the section of road West of the Reyda Vista Subdivision to Hwy 44. Paving operations and associated final grading work are scheduled for substantial completion by June 30th.
- One Lane traffic through the work zone
- Traffic accommodation will be in place
- Obey all traffic signs
Full Road Closure – City of St. Albert
Location: Twp Rd 540A between Rge Rd 261 and Rge Rd 260 – east of the railway crossing within the City of St. Albert
Effective Immediately: April 24, 2023 to July 1, 2023
Purpose: The City of St. Albert has closed Twp Rd 540A – between Rge Rd 261 and 260 east of the railway crossing due to further construction in the “Cherot Neighborhood” located on the northside of Twp Rd 540A.
- Signage is in place
- There is no through traffic on Twp Rd 540A from Rge Rd 261 to Rge Rd 260
Full Road Closure – City of St. Albert
Location: Rge Rd 255 from Twp Rd 544 to Hwy 633
Date: Effective immediately – October 25, 2022
The City of St. Albert has closed Rge Rd 255 south of Twp Rd 544 due to bridge issues over the Carrot Creek. City staff will be implementing traffic management changes and will be advancing a full assessment of the bridge.
- Signage is in place
- There is no through traffic from Hwy 633 north to Twp Rd 544
- All local residents south of the Carrot Creek bridge must access from Hwy 633
- City of St. Albert has posted on Facebook and Twitter regarding this bridge closure
Alberta Transportation Notification – Hwy 2 Overpass Northbound Lane Closure
Provincial Travel Advisory – Travel delays: Highway 2 near Morinville
Effective September 27, 2022
- Travellers on Highway 2 can expect delays at the CN overpass near Morinville.
- The northbound bridge is closed to all traffic for a future bridge replacement project.
- The southbound bridge will be open for two-way traffic with reduced speed limits until the project is completed in fall 2023.
- Travellers can expect delays and should adjust their travel times.
