Solar Array

Sturgeon County’s solar investment is the first of its kind in the region.

With 312 state-of-the-art solar modules, our Protective Services Headquarters building has had an impactful makeover.

The dark-coloured panels on the roof and the building exterior will deliver significant benefits to our community including production of 113,300 kWh per year — that’s enough to power 14.5 Alberta homes with electricity for one year! This results in an estimated annual reduction of 64.5 tonnes of GHG emissions.

With the help of our new solar panels, each day we are reducing our environmental footprint. We are proud of our progress and looking forward to a green future.
