Please be advised that a Special Council Meeting has been called for Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in Sturgeon County Council Chambers (and available online at https://www.sturgeoncounty.ca/government-engagement/council-meetings/).
This meeting has been called to address the following time-sensitive items:
- Agricultural Service Board’s recommendation to declare an agricultural disaster in Sturgeon County due to extreme growing season precipitation, resulting in localized flooding, highly variable crop stands and yields, unseeded acres, and below-average hay and silage production.
The Municipal Government Act (under section 194) provides Council with the authority to hold a Special Council Meeting if it decides a meeting is necessary.
