Emergency crews have confirmed that the fire at the transfer station near Redwater is under control. Crews have been winding down on scene but will be maintaining a presence to monitor for hot spots. No structures were damaged.
The road is now open for local traffic. The transfer station remains closed.
Please avoid the area to allow crews to continue their work.

Fire risk remains extremely high in the region and the fire and OHV ban remains in place. As of 8:40 p.m. on Friday, May 5, the ban now includes off-highway vehicles (OHVs). Visit sturgeoncounty.ca/fire-ban-may for information on what is and is not permitted during the fire ban.
