Connect with our rural past during Alberta Culture Days 

This fall, we’re bringing history to life in the heart of Sturgeon County. Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2025, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Namao Museum and Hall, a milestone worth gathering for! 

From 10 AM to noon at the Namao Museum and Community Hall, visitors of all ages are invited to connect with our rural past through games, stories, and hands-on activities. 

Here’s what you can enjoy: 

  • Take a guided tour through the Namao Museum 
  • Explore Namao United Church and the historic Johnny’s Store 
  • Play Family Bingo with fun prizes 
  • Try your hand at Cornhole or Giant Jenga 
  • Stay for cake, coffee, and refreshments while catching up with neighbours and friends 

Whether you’re a history buff, a family looking for weekend fun, or just curious about local heritage, this event is the perfect way to experience Alberta Culture Days.

A fire restriction is in effect for Sturgeon County and the towns of Bon Accord, Legal and Redwater as of August 26, 2025.

Sturgeon County offices are closed Monday, September 1, for Labour Day. Offices will reopen Tuesday, September 2 at 8:30 a.m. for regular business hours.
