Search filed information and plans related to the construction and development of a property

We can disclose information to the public at large or to the individual(s) the record directly relates to. This record search examines Planning and Development Services, Development Permitting and Building Services files only.

The disclosure of an employee’s name, business contact information and personal information in relation to municipal business, activities and expenditures may be disclosed under a Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) request, but not under a routine record search.

File Search Request

Search property records for an Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)

Make a file search request by filling out the below form; a representative from Sturgeon County will be in contact with you regarding the required fees.

This record search examines records related to the following:

  • Development permits, current land use/zoning, and land-use infractions.
  • Historic waste, landfill, or dumpsite on the property.
  • Emergency response for fire incidents and spillage or leakage of dangerous materials.
    • Note: Sturgeon County Protective Services does not administer the installation and/or removal of storage tanks; contact the Safety Codes Council for storage tank information on the property.
  • Building, electrical, plumbing, gas and private sewage permits information and/or status of inspections.
  • Land development such as outstanding obligations, levies, contributions, etc.
  • Orders, caveats or interest related to land acquisition or expropriation registered by Sturgeon County against the subject property.

A file search of our records does not constitute a complete environmental site assessment. The presence or absence of any information in our files for a specific property does not imply the presence or absence of environmental problems or difficulties. Sturgeon County accepts no responsibility or liability for the accuracy of the information provided, and the information should not be considered a substitute for proper investigation.
