Sturgeon County has six electric vehicle (EV) charging stations! There are four at Sturgeon County Centre and two at Cardiff Park.
The County received grant funding from the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre’s Electric Vehicle Charging Program to purchase these chargers. The goal of the program is to support the installation of EV charging stations at municipal facilities and other non-profit organizations in Alberta.
The charging stations are Level 2, meaning they have 6.2 kW (30 amps) of charging capacity per unit. They are part of the FLO EV charging network and use a standard J1772 connector which has been adopted by most Canadian and American EV manufacturers for cross-compatibility.
