Community Supports

Sturgeon County offers programs to encourage residents to get to know each other through different activities, and celebrate the people who are making a positive impact in the community.

Community Spirit Grant

The Community Spirit Grant is open to any Sturgeon County resident who has an idea for a project within Sturgeon County that supports community building, inclusion or addresses neighbourhood social change.

Applicants are eligible for up to $1,500 in grant funding for your neighbourhood, based on project need, as well as administrative support on permits, help with advertising, one-on-one planning meetings and recommendations to enhance project sustainability, as well as additional supplies (activity bags, lawn games, board games, canopies), if needed.

Block Parties

Plan activities for your neighbours like a BBQ, baseball game, outdoor concert or movie night! Connecting with your neighbours contributes to building a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community.

Sturgeon County’s Block Party Grant is available to County residents, and could provide funds for your event. Applications are due at least two weeks before the event.

Wellness on Wheels

Wellness on Wheels is an opportunity to have some fun and connect with the people in your neighbourhood!

Sturgeon County staff will be on hand with goody bags, some treats, and helpful community resource information. We hope that you will stop by, say hello, and take the opportunity to spend some time with the people in your community.

We would also love to take this opportunity to learn more about your neighbourhood and any ideas you might have for how we can support you in making it even better!
