Rules
- Dogs: Due to the environment (cold weather, noise, lots of people, etc.) we encourage you to leave your dogs at home. If you choose to bring them, they must be leashed and the owner is responsible for cleaning up after them.
- Smoking: The event grounds are a non-smoking area. This includes, but is not limited to, tobacco, marijuana and vaporizers.
Hours and location
Winterfest will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Sturgeon Agriplex, 25021 TWP Road 554, Sturgeon County.
Parking
Park at the Sturgeon Agriplex, 25021 TWP Road 554, Sturgeon County. Overflow parking at the Cardiff Park lot south of the skating trail, watch for signs.
Catch a ride with the horse-drawn wagon from the skating trail to the Agriplex.
Food and beverages
Check out the Agriplex concession for hot dogs, chili*, hot chocolate, coffee and water, free while supplies last. You can also decorate your own sugar cookie* while you warm up, and don’t forget to grab a s’mores kit to roast at one of the fire pits.
*Alternative food options available: vegetarian chili, dairy/gluten free and vegan cookies in limited quantities.

Washrooms
- Heated washrooms are available inside the Sturgeon Agriplex
- Cardiff Park Skating Trail also has a heated washroom near the dome shelter on the north side of the trail, and an unheated accessible port-a-potty.
Accessibility
Limited accessibility for some activities, may be affected by weather conditions. Trails may be cleared pavement or packed snow. Some areas may be difficult to navigate due to uneven surfaces or terrain.
Note: the Indoor arena with the petting zoo and pony rides has a soft dirt surface.
Weather conditions
The event will continue, snow, rain or shine. In the unlikely event of extreme weather, when the temperature (actual or feels like -20C), indoor activities will continue as scheduled, outdoor activities will be cancelled or moved inside where possible.
There will also be two warming stations on site, one on the north side near the washroom and one on the south side near the parking lot.
Lost and found
All items that have been found at the event will be turned in and available on-site at the information/swag tent. After the event, found items can be claimed at Sturgeon County Centre (9613 100 St. in Morinville).
Photography
Photographs and videos will be taken at the event for use on Sturgeon County’s website, social media, marketing materials and promotional uses. By entering the event, you consent to the photographing, recording and use of your image and likeness.
