Notice on behalf of FortisAlberta

Equipment salvage scheduled for your area, including poles and wires crossing the Sturgeon River

FortisAlberta Inc. hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Common Project Search (online registry) pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act described herein and its description.

Pursuant to paragraph 10(1)(b) of the said Act, FortisAlberta Inc., has deposited with the Minister of Transportation, a notice of a minor work in accordance with the online Common Project Search Registry (http://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 12473, a description of the following work, its site and plans:

FortisAlberta will be salvaging our poles and wires crossing the Sturgeon River in the NW 25-53-26-W4 and the poles and wires in the SW 25-53-26-W4. Work will take place between April 3 – 23, 2025.

This project will remove equipment in the area that is no longer required as part of FortisAlberta’s electricity distribution infrastructure.

Comments regarding the effect of this work on marine navigation can be sent through the Common Project Search site mentioned above under the comment section (search by the above referenced number). If you do not have access to registry, send comments directly to shujat.khan@fortisalberta.com.

Comments will be considered if they are received no later than 30 days after publication of this notice. Although all comments conforming to the above will be considered, no individual responses will be sent.

Transport Canada (TC) will not make your comments on a project available to the public on the online public registry. However, any information related to a work is considered as unclassified public record and could be accessible upon legal request. As such, the information and records provided should not contain confidential or sensitive information. If you want to provide confidential or sensitive information that you think should not be made public, please contact TC before submitting it.
