Easiest – Minimal elevation change over areas of paved or hard footing. Wheelchair Accessible.
Easy – Slight elevation change over areas of paved or hard footing surface.
Moderate – Defined elevation change over areas of paved or hard footing surface, possibly stairs.
Most trails are open for use at any time. The Red Ribbon Trail, which is located in Cardiff Park is subject to Cardiff Park hours (Monday – Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
When You Arrive
Trails are open for use year-round. At times, areas may need repairs and will be barricaded as required. At times, Trails will have routine maintenance done according to our maintenance policy.
Lamoureux Trail, Fort Augustus Trail, Red Ribbon Trail and Bellerose Trail all have identified parking areas that can be found on the printable PDF maps. The remainder of the trails rely on street parking for access.
- Stay right and yield to slower moving traffic
- Share the trail with other users like cyclists, skaters, and walkers
- Leash and clean up after your pets
- No motorized or off-highway vehicles allowed
- Horses are not permitted on the trails

Where can I find information about trail condition and status?
Trails are open for use year round, unless major repairs or upgrades are underway. Areas under minor repair will be barricaded as required. Trail maintenance takes place between May 1 and September 30th. Additional information on scheduled inspections and Sturgeon County’s trail maintenance policy can be found here.
I forgot my dog bags, can I find dog bags or dog bag disposal options along the trails?
There are dog bags and receptacles on multiple Sturgeon County trails. The bags can be found on the Sturgeon County trail signs.
