Sturgeon County Organizational Meeting
Council approved the 2023 calendar for Regular Council, Committee of the Whole, and 2024 Budget Meetings.
Additional special or regular Council meetings can be scheduled through the year as required.
Utility Waiver Request
Council heard a presentation from a resident requesting a waiver for water utility charges.
Administration will bring forward recommendations for Council consideration at a future meeting.
Resource Extraction Regulatory Review
Council received an updated consolidated
“What We Heard Report” that summarizes public and stakeholder feedback throughout the Resource Extraction Regulatory Review (RERR), as well as administrative analysis of the County’s proposed changes for resource extraction. A new bylaw that reflects extensive public and stakeholder input will go to Council on November 15, 2022. If Council provides first reading, Council will hold a public hearing for the public to provide input on the proposed bylaw.
Animal Sheltering Services
Council directed Administration to present information and recommendations for Council consideration regarding sheltering services for unwanted or stray cats and dogs at the December 13, 2022, Council Meeting.
Next Council Meeting
Council approved the 2022/2023 appointments for County Boards, Committees, and Commissions.
The next Sturgeon County Council meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. on October 25, 2022.
