Sturgeon teens hit the mark in archery competition

Sturgeon County’s Jordyn Polowaniuk (a former member of the Sturgeon County Youth Council and a JET volunteer) and Adam Berge had quite the summer experience – and they were right on target! It was the first time that they had represented Canada at an international archery competition. They were part of Canada’s team at the 2023 World Archery Youth Championships which was held in Ireland in July.

Team Canada was up against 518 archers from 58 countries, in a range of categories shooting for one of 20 world titles. The team did well in several categories and was in the top 10 for final rankings for the Compound Under 21 Men’s Team and Under 18 Women’s Team, which were the events that Adam and Jordyn were entered in respectively. While this was their first time on a national team, both have been in the competitive scene for years.

Congratulations to Jordyn and Adam, best of luck in the future: may your aim be true, and your shots hit the mark.
