Join the Celebration: Small Business Week Promises Exciting Events and Opportunities

During Small Business Week – from Oct. 15 to 21 – Sturgeon County will be celebrating the more than 2,100 small businesses that call the County home.

“Small Business Week is an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate the backbone of our local economy: our small businesses. They are the ones who invest not only their capital but also their passion and dreams into our community,” said Mayor Alanna Hnatiw. “Their enterprises are the heart and soul of our community, and they play a vital role in shaping our unique identity and enhancing our quality of life.”

The 2023 events mark the first time Sturgeon County has celebrated Small Business Week with an evening business mixer and panel event. We heard through surveys last year that businesses would like an evening networking event, so we are trialling it this year.

“We are excited to once again have small business owners join us for Small Business Week,” said Leanne McBean, Business Retention and Expansion Lead. “We are offering several events that will provide networking opportunities, connect business owners with valuable resources, and inspire entrepreneurial spirit.”

Sturgeon County encourages its business community to register for the following Small Business Week events:
