Division Two Councillor Kristin Toms

First elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2025, Kristin Toms brings a dynamic blend of communications, marketing, and business expertise to her role as Division 2 Councillor. With a background in growing her family’s wealth management business, Kristin leverages best practices from diverse industries to champion effective decision-making and sustainable growth in Sturgeon County.​

Kristin holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Public Relations Diploma from MacEwan University, reflecting her strong commitment to lifelong learning. Residents know her for her open-door approach, decisive action, and dedication to improving local infrastructure—including her leadership in projects such as traffic safety upgrades and emergency response enhancements. Kristin also spearheaded initiatives to support community organizations, particularly during challenging periods.

Her priorities for Division 2 include advancing transportation networks, supporting responsible development, fostering business opportunities, and maintaining transparency in all council affairs. Kristin’s direct, honest communication style ensures that residents are heard and kept informed.

Outside council, Kristin is a dedicated parent, avid gardener, enthusiastic cook, and a Spartan race competitor.
