Local Connections, Real Conversations

In October, Sturgeon County’s business community showed up. From swapping stories over coffee to digging into procurement and logistics, local entrepreneurs spent time building connections, sharing ideas, and uncovering new opportunities.

Small Business Week Mixer

Small Business Week 2025 presenters

Our Small Business Week Mixer brought together home-based businesses, professional services, industrial suppliers and more – all in one room.

The goal was simple:

  • Give business owners space to connect with each other
  • Spark practical conversations about growth, hiring, marketing, and day-to-day challenges
  • Highlight the supports available through Sturgeon County and our regional partners

If you couldn’t attend: This is a reminder that you don’t have to build your business alone. There’s a network of local entrepreneurs and partners who are ready to share what they’ve learned.

Regional Supply Chain Forum

Later in October, our Regional Supply Chain Forum shifted the focus from general networking to something more specific: how local companies can plug into larger regional supply chains.

This event brought together:

  • Representatives from larger industrial and infrastructure projects
  • Local suppliers and service providers
  • Municipal and regional partners

If you couldn’t attend: Here are some key themes that emerged; partnerships beat going it alone, know your value and communicate it, and make sure you know which vendor lists you should be getting on to keep you in the loop about upcoming opportunities.

Why These Events Matter for Your Business

Whether you’re a one-person shop or a growing employer, events like these aim to:

  • Save you time by pulling key contacts into one room
  • Shorten your learning curve with real stories and practical advice
  • Increase your visibility with partners, peers, and potential customers
  • Connect you with support – so when you’re ready to grow, you know who to call

If you attended, we hope you left with at least one new idea or contact to act on. If you didn’t, there’s more on the horizon.
