Public Hearings – Bylaws 1592/22, 1593/22 and 1594/22

The Takes Flight project team has been using what we heard to draft the various Future Takes Flight plans. We are now moving to the next stage of the process, the formal Public Hearings, one for each of the plans. There is still an opportunity to provide feedback in support or opposition of the plans, by providing a written submission or presenting to Council during the hearings. The draft Bylaws and the related maps are posted online at sturgeoncounty.ca/takesflight

The Public Hearings for the following Bylaws will be held both in person and via videoconference on:
Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
(or as soon as practical thereafter) at: Sturgeon County Council Chambers 9613-100 Street, Morinville, Alberta T8R 1L9

In accordance with section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, Sturgeon County Council is requesting public input on Bylaws 1592/22, 1593/22 and 1594/22.

 

PUBLIC HEARING – Bylaw 1592/22
Amend Bylaw 1313/13 Municipal Development Plan

The purpose of this Bylaw is to amend theMunicipal Development Plan with:
1. Consequential amendments to the Municipal Development Plan document and maps in light of amendments to Neighbourhood E.

 

PUBLIC HEARING – Bylaw 1593/22
Amend Bylaw 922/01 Calahoo-Villeneuve Sand & Gravel Extraction Area Structure Plan

The purpose of this Bylaw is to:
1. Amend Figure 7.1 in light of Bylaw 1594/22 the Villeneuve Airport Area – ASP

Villeneuve Airport Area – Area Structure Plan
The purpose of this Bylaw is to:
1. Implement a new Area Structure Plan pertaining to the area known as the Villeneuve Airport Area.

 

Important information about Public Hearings

Requirements for all Speakers
All Speakers will be given a 5-minute time limit and are encouraged to provide a written copy of their submission in advance of the Public Hearing.

Speakers participating through videoconference
If you wish to speak at the Public Hearing via teleconference, you must register 24 hours prior to the opening of the Public Hearing by contacting Legislative Services at 780-939-8279. This is to ensure that virtual participants receive instructions to access the videoconference.

In-person Speakers
If you intend on participating in person, you are encouraged to pre-register for the Public Hearing by contacting Legislative Services at 780-939-8279.

Written Submissions
All interested parties are encouraged to express their views by providing a written submission to Legislative Services by email. Written submissions will be accepted up to the close of the Public Hearing.

Persons wishing to view the Public Hearing without making a submission are invited to attend in person or view the livestream on Sturgeon County’s website at www.sturgeoncounty.ca/CouncilMeetings. To view the livestream, click on the meeting date on the calendar, then click on the video link.
