Notable activities from the month of October:
On October 2, Morinville RCMP responded to a complaint of break-ins at two businesses on 100 Avenue in Morinville. The suspect fled the scene but was located soon after and arrested. A 34-year-old man from Sherwood Park has been charged with break & enter, property damage, theft, and failing to comply with a probation order.
On October 2, Morinville RCMP also responded to a complaint of a man intoxicated by drugs who was randomly attempting to break into an occupied residence in Sturgeon County, south of Gibbons. The suspect physically attacked the officers who arrived on scene before being arrested and taken into custody. A 24-year-old man from Edmonton has been charged with break & enter, possession of stolen property, trespassing at night, assault, two counts of assaulting a police officer, and two counts of resisting arrest.
On October 3, Morinville RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 37. A vehicle that was stopped at a red light had been rear-ended by another vehicle being driven by a suspected impaired driver. Fortunately, there were no injuries. A 64-year-old man from Fort McMurray was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
On October 16, Morinville RCMP responded to a complaint of a pickup truck swerving on Highway 37 nearly causing several head-on collisions. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested. A 40-year-old man from Melfort, Saskatchewan, was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, and three counts of failing to comply with previous release conditions.
On October 22, members from the Morinville RCMP volunteered to help the organizers of the Morinville Sturgeon Men’s Shed Club with moving woodworking equipment into the Sturgeon County Agriplex in Cardiff, in preparation for the facility’s Grand Opening on November 15.Â

On October 29, Morinville RCMP responded to a complaint of a break-in at a home in Morinville. Investigators determined that the suspect was known to the residents and had broken into the home while they were away on vacation. A 23-year-old woman from St. Albert has been arrested and charged with break & enter.
