The Evacuation Alert area has been expanded
Sturgeon County has issued an evacuation alert for everyone located East of Range Road 223 to the North Saskatchewan River and between Township Road 580 South to Township Road 570, including the Town of Redwater.Â
IF a mandatory evacuation order is issued you will have ONE hour to evacuate. No evacuation is required at this time.Â

An Evacuation Order remains in effect
The mandatory evacuation order remains in effect for residents in the affected area closest to the fire. Residents living on Range Road 213 East to Range Road 203 and between Township Road 580 South to Township Road 573 are affected. Affected residents must evacuate immediately.
The reception centre has been relocated:Â
The Reception Centre has been moved to the Morinville Leisure Centre, 25126 Secondary Highway 642, AB effective immediately.Â
All residents in the evacuation area must report in person, to the reception centre. It is important to register in person in order to be eligible for future supports.

What to Do During an Evacuation Order
If you are required to evacuate from your residence, emergency services will go door to door to inform residents.
If an evacuation order is issued, do the following:
- Leave the area immediately. Leaving promptly helps emergency crews keep the roads clear of congestion and gives them room to do their job. Evacuation orders are issued when you must leave the area for your own safety.
- Grab your emergency kit and take it with you.
- Follow instructions on where to go. Follow evacuation routes specified by emergency workers.
- Follow us on Facebook and/or X for news and updates.
- Follow evacuation routes specified by authorities. Do not take shortcuts.
- Drive carefully with your headlights on. Make way for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.
